Headlight Solutions Order Screen

4 min. readlast update: 11.01.2024

The Order Screen is where you can view orders that have been populated by your ERP integration and is typically where you will begin to create optimized routes of orders.

In essence, you will first select WHAT ships, and then HOW it ships.

The Map on the right and the Order List on the left show all orders that need to ship tomorrow based on the filters selected and the data from your ERP.

(Note: All orders on the left correspond with a pin on the right.)

Selecting Orders:

To Select Orders:

  • Click the order tile checkbox on the left, or

  • Click the order pins on the map, and click the order checkbox, or

  • Draw and name a custom  region with the draw region tool on the map

Order Screen: Load Tracker

The Load Tracker calculates the currently selected orders as you go to give you an accurate display of the total weight, total cost, and orders selected.

The load tracker also displays Warnings as you build routes. Orders can still be routed, but it’s better to fix these issues before routing if possible. (ex:0 Pallets vs NO weight, incompatible loads)

Order Screen: Search Panel

The Search Bar allows you to search for manifests, orders, company, weight, truck type, etc. The search will autofill as you type, and you can use the Type dropdown to refine your search.

The Region dropdown selects which pins will display on the map. You can choose between all, none, or any user-created regions you have made.

The Selected Data dropdown allows you to filter on many different order conditions.

  • Filter by Order type to include/remove sales, pickups, and transfer order types.

  • Filter by Manifests to include/remove manifests that are assigned or unassigned.

  • Filter by the Other setting to include/remove unroutable orders.

  • Toggle the Hold Code filter to include/remove orders with or without hold codes.

  • Lastly, filter by Flexible Ship Date Orders to display orders with or without flexible ship dates, as well as including recommended orders.

  • Note: When it comes to Flexible vs Recommended Orders, the system will only recommend the top 25% of the total flexible shipments available.

The expected Ship Date range can be changed, though there’s usually no need to modify this as you are often planning loads for tomorrow 99% of the time.

Promise Date Range specifies when you promised to deliver to the customer. Again, the range can be changed, but there’s usually no need to modify this as you are often planning loads for tomorrow 99% of the time.

Virtual Order

Use the + Create Virtual Order button to manually create an order to be routed. This could be the result of a last-minute order, or an order not being imported from your ERP.

Just click the + Create Virtual Order button to get started. Then specify the customer being delivered to, select the order type in the dropdown, the ship date, and specify any ship rules in the dropdown. Add in the line item details, quantity, part #, description, etc. Click the Create Order button to finalize the new order and have it populate on the order screen for routing.

Once created, all virtual orders will begin with a V so that you can easily find them using the search tool.

A virtual order is also the only type of order that can be deleted in Headlight Solutions. Other imported ERP orders cannot be deleted in our system, but would instead need to be updated first in your ERP.

Select All/Unselect All

Use this filter to select or unselect all visible orders based on the date range, the region selected, and the selected data dropdown filters.

Route Orders

Once you're ready to take your orders to the routing stage, click the Route Orders dropdown to select between Manual or Optimized Routes, and click Route Orders.
